Nicole C. Lee, a Baltimore native was ordained as a minister in 2003 and was given the vision to reach out to an often-neglected portion of society, impacted by a very unfamiliar topic to many—the world of human trafficking. Although the severity of this epidemic is hidden, Nicole, a survivor herself, is very familiar with the effects and the social impact on both individuals and their families.
Stepping out on faith, in 2012, Nicole founded and now serves as the Executive Director of the S.O.A.R Project. Using a diverse range of approaches to maximize results, she is active in outreach, philanthropy, advocacy and personal mentorship.
Nicole is committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by this social injustice through referrals to case management and crisis response as well as offering resources, prevention and educational services. She accomplishes this through the development of seminars, workshops, and other learning opportunities, by partnering with other agencies and providing trainings to Universities, Social Service Agencies, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Schools throughout the United States. Nicole has spoken before the Maryland Senate, providing testimony to change legislation for Human Trafficking Victims. She was appointed by Maryland State Governor Hogan as a member of the Safe Harbor Working Group.
